We are NHS Approved and funded to provide FREE sight tests to those who are eligible.
How often should you have an eye test?
We recommend having an eye test at least every two years. For most adults, a routine check-up every two years is ideal if there are no existing concerns. However, children should have their eyes tested every year to keep track of their developing vision. If you ever notice any changes in your sight or have any concerns, don’t wait—book an appointment and let us take a closer look.
How long does an eye test take?
An eye test usually takes around 20 minutes, though the exact time can vary based on your individual needs. If you're older or have existing health conditions, your test may take a little longer to ensure everything is thoroughly checked.
What happens at an eye test?
An eye test is more than just checking your vision—it’s a complete health check for your eyes. It includes a series of assessments to evaluate how well you see and to examine the overall condition of your eyes, inside and out. Many eye conditions can be detected early through routine testing, reducing the risk of long-term damage. In some cases, eye tests can even reveal signs of broader health issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Understanding your eye test results
After your eye test, your optometrist will provide you with a copy of your prescription and take the time to answer any questions you may have. If you need vision correction, they’ll explain your prescription clearly and guide you through the best options tailored to your needs.

Our optician will guide you through the process, talk through the results, and discuss your options there and then.

See!
We make your glasses according to your needs and send them directly by post. If you need a fitting appointment, we’ll provide that too.
